Temple Israel Religious School

There are 613 mitzvot, but not all Jewish taboos are based on Jewish law. Join us to explore the roots and reasons behind many of the things that "Jews just don't do" and find out just how taboo - or not - they really are.

Shemesh - the Hebrew word for sun - is a bright new Religious School experience for students with special needs and their families. Families will get to know one another, create a friendly community of families who navigate similar obstacles, and celebrate the many joys of raising children with physical or intellectual disabilities.

This Book Club is inspired by Lilith, one of the fiercest forgotten women of Jewish literature. Prior to each meeting, we’ll read a book by or about Jewish women, each taking place during a different time period, so we’ll learn a little history, enjoy some fantastic novels, and bring to light some forgotten figures of the Jewish past over a nosh and some great discussions.

Join us for lunch and an important presentation by Dr. Hedva Barenholtz Levy on how to empower yourself to ask key questions regarding your drug therapy. We look forward to seeing you for a tasty lunch and an informative afternoon!
