CHICKEN AND WINE | SUMMER OF "LOVE" SANGRIA | CHOCOLATE FONDUE
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 lb. chicken pieces
3 tbsp. oil
1 chopped onion
8 oz. mushrooms
3 carrots, chopped in large chunks
3/4 cup red wine
1-2 tbsp. rosemary
1 tsp. thyme
Seasoning salt, salt,and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Braise chicken in oil with onion, salt, pepper, and seasoning salt. Add wine, rosemary, thyme, carrots, and mushrooms. Cover and cook for 45 minutes or until very tender. Serve over whole grain rice. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS:
1/2 apple (chopped, skin on)
1/2 orange (rind on, sliced into small pieces, large seeds removed, plus more for garnish)
3 tbsp. sugar
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup brandy
1 bottle of dry red wine
1 cup ice to chill
DIRECTIONS:
Add apples, oranges, and sugar to a large pitcher and smash together with a wooden spoon. Pour in orange juice and brandy. Add red wine and stir to incorporate. Last, add ice and stir once. Garnish with chopped fruit! Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS:
6 oz. Ghirardelli milk chocolate
4 oz. Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
1-2 tbsp. sweet wine, liqueur, or flavored extract
Chilled fresh fruit
Marshmallows
Pound cake or angel food cake, cubed
DIRECTIONS:
Break chocolate into small pieces and melt in heavy saucepan, fondue pot, or double boiler, along with ice cream and wine. Stir consistently to make sauce smooth. Serve warm! Yields 1 cup. Note: any chocolate can be used for this recipe. Enjoy!
