About Dr. Harley Hammerman: Dr. Hammerman operates a chain of successful medical imaging centers. But he’s better known as an expert on vanished St. Louis restaurants. What began as a quest to document his favorite childhood restaurant turned into an online catalog of 105 restaurants and counting. Hammerman researches and writes about St. Louis’ shuttered dining establishments on his Lost Tables website. A companion Lost Dishes site collects recipes, and the Lost Tables Facebook group has a cult following of St. Louisans who post regularly about their favorite absent eateries.
