Member of TI for 22 years, Outgoing Trustee, international traveler, husband, and father
“My family became members of the Temple in 1966, the year I was born. Never would it have crossed my mind to go anywhere else – TI is the foundation and root of my Jewish history.
“I grew up at Temple Israel, and my Jewish journey stems back to Religious School. Most importantly, TI has been a cornerstone of my families, as Rabbi Rubin married my parents, buried my father, married my mother and stepfather, and recently Rabbi Amy married me and my wife, Heike. My three children all grew up going to TI’s Religious & Hebrew School, were Confirmed at TI, and became B’nai Mitzvah here, too. As time has passed, my connection to the Temple and Judaism has continued to mature. I’m very interested in learning more about the religion and want to visit Israel with Rabbi Amy & Rabbi Michael when a trip is again possible.
“I’ve been on the board for numerous years and have cherished being a lay leader. I like giving back to the Jewish community and to TI by supporting continued growth for my Temple family and friends. I love being part of our connection with TI congregants, raising money, and supporting our fiduciary responsibility. As a Board member, my goal has always been to bring positive energy as we creatively navigate TI’s future, and I've greatly enjoyed my time serving this congregation."
Jeffrey’s mantra: “Treat others in the same way you would like to be treated – or as my grandmother used to say in German translates as ‘the way you yell into the forest is the way the forest yells back.’”
