Favorite mantra: “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”

TI Core Belief that most resonates with Benj: “Community. There are so few Jewish people in the world, and here in St. Louis, that it’s critical to understand our traditions and pass them on. I took on a leadership role at TI to really learn how the synagogue runs and to help ensure its future.”

Something most people don’t know about Benj: “I sing baritone in the St. Peter's Choir.”

“I grew up hearing my four grandparents talk about their losses from the Holocaust. We enjoyed the traditions of the Jewish holidays, but the pain of the Holocaust was always present. In medical school, I realized how much Judaism meant to me and decided to marry a Jewish woman. I met Nikki in 1999 and we are fortunate to have two wonderful boys who are currently both preparing for their Bar Mitzvah. I love TI because it has been a very welcoming synagogue since we moved here in 2016. I am also a singer and really appreciate the beautiful music.”
