Temple Israel has gift cards available for TI members in need to purchase immediate and necessary staple items during this difficult time. Gift card recipients will remain anonymous.

COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Program: An Opportunity to Help
Mercy and Mercy Research, which is led by Mercy Vice President and TI Member JoAnne Levy, are participating in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's programs allowing use of plasma from recovered COVID-19 patients to treat hospitalized COVID-19 patients with or at risk of severe/life-threatening illness.
Although there have been promising results to date, convalescent plasma has not yet been clinically proven to be effective in treating COVID-19. Clinical trials studying convalescent plasma and other possible COVID treatments are underway at research centers across the country, including through Mercy Research.
Plasma donors must have had a positive COVID-19 molecular test result, be 28 days symptom-free, or be at least 14 days symptom-free and have a negative molecular test for COVID-19. Plasma from one donor can be used to treat up to three COVID patients.
Mercy Research is actively contacting patients who tested positive for COVID at Mercy facilities and who may be qualified plasma donors. If non-Mercy patients are interested in donating convalescent plasma, they may contact Mercy Research at mercyresearchinfo@mercy.net.
Mercy’s Blood Donor Center, located on Mercy’s Ballas/Conway Road hospital campus, is accepting plasma donations. The American Red Cross and Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center are also area blood collection centers collecting convalescent plasma.
