To our families with children that attend Temple Israel's Education Center:

The wellbeing of your child is of the highest importance to us at TI's Education Center, so we take many precautions to decrease to spread of infectious disease, including daily sanitation and cleaning of play equipment and high touch surfaces, regular handwashing and the exclusion of staff and children who are sick. In recent weeks we have all been tracking the coronavirus and the implications of a potential spread into Missouri.  We follow all CDC guidelines and monitor a variety of sources to ensure we maintain a healthy and safe environment for all staff and participants.

While there are currently no known cases of coronavirus in our community, given the nature of the situation, we need your help to maintain our student’s health and safety. As is our policy, we ask that you take the following precautions:

  • Keep children home who are sick.
  • Encourage handwashing at home like we do at school.  Hands should be washed for 20 seconds with soap, rubbing between fingers and under nails; and then rinsed. Handwashing is the most effective tool for preventing the spread of the virus.
  • Teach and encourage children to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or sleeve, NOT with their hands.
  • Avoid touching your face (eyes, nose and mouth).
  • Avoid exposure to respiratory illness by avoiding people who are sick.
  • Always contact a medical professional if you have questions or are exhibiting symptoms of the coronavirus.

Please be advised that we will follow the recommendations of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the CDC when determining our response to the coronavirus.

Please remember that diligent handwashing with soap is considered the best protection from infectious diseases.

Additional resources about the coronavirus can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

And, please do not to hesitate to contact us with questions.

It’s essential that we all abide by the above practices to avoid exposure to infectious diseases.

Thank you for adhering to these guidelines, as we continue to partner with our community to maintain a healthy and safe environment for everyone at our Education Center.

Love,
Leslie Wolf
